Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), together with GF Futures, China OilOnline, hosted the China Fuel Oil Market Seminar 2006 on March 16 in Guangzhou. Nearly eighty representatives from oil refiners, fuel oil suppliers, power plants, and Chinaware producers in South China attended the meeting.

Head of some departments of SHFE summarized the operations of fuel oil market in 2005, and analyzed issues related to fuel oil trading and delivery. Experts from PetroChina Institution of Economics & Technology analyzed and forecasted the developments of both domestic and overseas oil market for 2006. Professionals from GF Futures and OGA (Guangdong Oil & Gas Association) analyzed how fuel oil consuming entities managed oil price risks and controlled operating costs by hedging in the futures market, and the developments of Huangpu fuel oil market in South China.
