Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE hereinafter) and China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA hereinafter) recently co-hosted the “Management Seminar and Training on Futures Market Serving Supply-Side Reforms of Key Lead-Zinc Enterprises” in Shanghai.
As an important project, it’s purpose lies in implementing annual cooperation plan between the two parties, the meeting aims at summarizing and exchanging successful experience of some Lead-Zinc players in utilizing the futures market to promote steady and healthy corporate operations since November 2015, pushing forward supply-side reform of the industry and improving corporate operating efficiency and risk management level. Officials from both SHFE and CNIA expressed their willings for comprehensive and deep exchanges and cooperation, co-building of a sound situation of integration and win-win between nonferrous metal futures market and the real industries.
Authorities and analysts form CINA, SHFE and key Lead-Zinc enterprises respectively delivered 7 impressive speeches concerning supply-side structural reform of the Lead-Zinc industry, futures market operation, enterprise cash-futures operation and cost control, global Lead-Zinc concentrate supply & influence of domestic consumption changes on market and hedging strategies and practices. Leaders from six enterprises including Chinalco, NONFEMET (Stock Code: 000060), Zhihong Zn & Ge (Stock Code: 600497), Yuguang Gold and Lead (Stock Code: 600531), NFQL and Dongling Group shared with all participants about how to establish risk control system and improve competitiveness, which was well received by all participants.
Over 60 representatives mainly composed of top management from 27 council members of CINA Lead-Zinc Branch attended the meeting, during which, Secretariat of the Lead-Zinc Branch held the Secretary Generals Meeting planning future work including holding “China International Lead-Zinc Week” and “Futures Specific Forum” in November.
