Futures Daily: The SHFE Holds Sub-area Members’ Symposiums

From February 3 to 4, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) held the 2015 Sub-area Members’ Symposiums in seven cities. Yang Maijun, Chairman of the SHFE, and Liu Nengyuan, President and CEO of the SHFE, led their teams to go to different areas, introducing the SHFE’s work in 2014 and its work plan in 2015, commending outstanding members, and soliciting members’ opinions and suggestions.

The sub-area members’ symposiums involved members of 151 futures companies and 52 non-futures companies across China. At the symposium, the SHFE commended the 2014 outstanding members, including the Excellent Trading Members, the Nominees for Excellent Trading Members, the Members with Development in Trading, the Excellent Members in Industry Service, the Excellent Subsidiaries in Risk Management, and other 8 awards.

After the symposiums, the SHFE officials visited and surveyed local members, industry clients, and institutional investors, in a bid to fully learn about the market operation situation and demands, the circumstances and development plans of institutional investors in different areas, learn and exchange experience in the futures service industry chain, and collect market opinions and suggestions.

It is learnt that the SHFE will hold a symposium planning the 2015 work within one week after the sub-area members’ symposiums. It is predicted that the members’ opinions and suggestions and the investigation results collected from the sub-area members’ symposiums will be the reference for the SHFE to formulate the specific work plan for 2015.
