The revised SHFE Steel Rebar Futures Contract Specifications, SHFE Wire Rod Futures Contract Specifications and Delivery Rules of the Shanghai Futures Exchange have been reviewed and adopted by the Board of Directors of Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), and reported to the China Securities Regulatory Commission. They shall take effect from September 25, 2024(from the continuous trading session on the night of September 24).

The steel rebar that conforms to the specifications of National Standard GB 1499.2-2024, and the steel wire rod that conforms to the specifications of National Standard GB 1499.1-2024 can be used to register standard warrants from July 29, 2024.The steel rebar that conforms to the specifications of National Standard GB/T 1499.2-2018, and the steel wire rod that conforms to the specifications of National Standard GB/T 1499.1-2017 cannot be used to register standard warrants from (including) August 19, 2024.The standard warrants registered by the steel rebar that conforms to the specifications of National Standard GB/T 1499.2-2018 and the steel wire rod that conforms to the specifications of National Standard GB/T 1499.1-2017 will be canceled by Shanghai Futures Exchange, and any standard warrants that remain pledged will be released after the market closes on September 24.

Shanghai Futures Exchange will implement necessary measures based on market conditions to facilitate the smooth transition from previous national standards to the new revised national standards. Please comply with relevant national laws and regulations, adhere to regulations of the exchange, take precautions against risk, and ensure the stable operation of the market collaboratively.

All members are requested to issue reminders before the implementation of the revised rule.
